Best way to get tickets for sporting events.

This has probably been discussed on here before, but I couldn't find any threads. I am thinking about going to the MAC basketball tournament in Cleveland next week. There are plenty of tickets sites, but the fees are ridiculous. Sometimes almost double the price of the ticket. I'm a senior citizen and don't feel like getting robbed or killed in a Craigslist transaction.

Good idea..I was thinking of going the old-fashioned scalper route. Some of these sites made it seem like tickets are going fast, which I thought was bs. I mean, this is the MAC tournament, I don't expect a packed house.

I just ordered 6 Chicago Blackhawks Tickets from VIVID and the fees were:

Vivid : 621.78

TicPic : 636.00

So fees were $106 per ticket or that was the total including the tickets

Vivid does offer a 10% discount, but only if the original price is $50 or higher. The tickets for the session I want to go to are around $36.
